Central Coast Minority Enterprise Resource Affiliates (CCMERA) is excited to announce that nominations are now open for the 2nd Annual Business and Leadership Awards Gala. This esteemed event, which celebrates the remarkable achievements within the Black, African American, and underserved minority communities, is set to take place on February 3, 2024 at the Hilton Garden Inn, Oxnard/Camarillo.
A Celebrated Tradition Continues
Following the resounding success of the last gala, which saw influential leaders like John R. Hatcher III (Posthumously), BJ Ward, and Adam Casillas and Richard Ramos being honored, this year’s event is poised to be even more spectacular. Corporate entities including Wells Fargo Bank, and Myers, Widders, Gibson, Jones, & Feingold, L.L.P., that embrace CCMERA’s mission were also recognized. The Gala theme this year is “The Influence of Small Business: Community, Culture, Economy, Wealth”, which recognizes the significant role of small and micro-businesses in shaping our community’s future.
Spotlight on Our Community’s Finest
The Gala will feature an array of community influencers and notable figures. Previous attendees included the late Supervisor Carmen Ramirez, Commissioner Jesse Herrera, and LaRita Montgomery, whose contributions to the community have been invaluable. Testimonials from past awardees, also including the inspiring words of Perry B. Martin, Jr., previous keynote speaker, highlight the impact of this prestigious recognition.
Nominations Open to the Public
We encourage the community to nominate businesses and individuals that exemplify leadership, innovation, and commitment. Categories for nomination may include Affiliate of the Year, Corporate Award, Echo Boomer Award, Entrepreneurs Award, and several others. Nominations can be submitted through ccmera.org/nominations until December 11.
