Ray Edwards

Ray Edwards is a Pittsburgh-bred businessman, visionary and inventor. He is the founder, CEO, and lead innovator of PNDULUM, and is also co-founder and CEO of its portfolio company Trizone LLC, where he serves as the co- product architect of its groundbreaking purification technology PAQtech®.

Edwards has served on the management team of notable venture-backed tech, sports and media ventures founded by celebrity icons. These roles have largely encompassed responsibilities in strategic finance, M&A oversight and corporate development growing these companies from idea conception to pre-IPO. Two of his most prominent exits were Glaceau’s sale to Coca Cola (Formula 50), and TRUECar’s IPO in 2014.

Prior to PNDULUM, Edwards served as the CFO of The Players’ Tribune founded by Derek Jeter. He commandeered capital raise and financing efforts from launch through the company’s $40 million Series B raise with NEA and IVP. Previously, Ray served oversaw strategic finance at theAudience, a celebrity-focused social media powerhouse backed by Sean Parker, Ari Emmanuel (WME) and the Founders’ Fund. His launched his career in finance as a Licensed CPA at Ernst & Young in the Entertainment & Media practice serving publicly-traded clients that included Warner Music Group, TimeWarner’s filmed entertainment and television divisions performing M&A transaction work.

Edwards has stated that the goals of the PNDULUM family of companies is to produce culture-changing innovative consumer products that solve everyday problems for customers. Part of his mission is to focus on products that are socially-responsible and high-tech. Additionally, PNDULUM’s micro-VC fund focuses on empowering minority and women founders of innovative products and technologies with a goal of empowering entrepreneurs

to launch full-scale businesses, build sustainable paths-to-market and achieve sustainable wealth through the commercialization of their underlying products by serving customers with innovative technology.

Successfully brought the LAP-BAND® to market from start-up to multiple acquisitions, and eventually to Fortune 500 company, Allergan. Served 13 years in the United States Air Force as a Public Affairs Specialist. Author, speaker and mentor to women and young entrepreneurs.

I’m passionate about collaboration, education and transparency in business. I think there are amazingly talented people that often find themselves in the wrong environments where their gifts and talents go unnoticed and undeveloped. Mentorship, connecting to other like-minded individual’s and sharing experiences is crucial in effort to grow and have real change in our communities.

Kenneth F. Crawford

Lender Relation Specialist
U.S. Small Business Administration

On June 24, 2007, Ken assumed the responsibilities of Lender Relation Specialist for the Los Angeles District Office of the SBA. In this position Ken counsels walk-in clients, speaks at various seminars, workshops and work with the Finance Division in training our network of Bankers. Ken is the Veterans Outreach Representative as well as the Faith-base Outreach Representative.

A long time resident of Inglewood Ken Graduated from George Washington High School and Los Angeles City College, attend The University of California at Los Angeles. Ken received a Bachelor and Master Degree in Biblical Studies and is now in the Doctor of Religious Education at Next Dimension University.

Ken is a decorated Vietnam era veteran, started his career at SBA in 1997. Ken worked at the Business Information Center (BIC) until the SBA open The One Stop Capital Shop in 2001, he worked there until the program end. Upon returning to the BIC he began to outreach and market SBA programs and services to the community until it became the number one BIC in the country.

As a Lender Relations Specialist Ken is the District Office Technical Representative for the Los Angeles District Office four Women Business Centers. Ken is also the Project Officer for the Community Advantage Loan program and the Micro Loan program.

Marvin Boateng

Loan Funds Manager
Economic Development Collaborative

Marvin Boateng is the Loan Funds Manager for the Economic Development Collaborative- Ventura County (EDCVC), an organization that provides technical assistance and access to capital to small businesses in Ventura and Santa Barbara County. Marvin is in charge of lending and oversees eight small business loan funds. Marvin has assisted more than 150 businesses to access more than $20 million in capital, creating more than 1,000 jobs and 200 child care slots in high priority areas in Ventura County. In 2013, Marvin was recognized by the Pacific Coast Business Times “40 under 40” for his passion for public service. Before working for the EDCVC, Marvin was a Branch Manager in the US Bank San Fernando Valley In-Store District.

Mike Panesis

California Lutheran University

Mike Panesis is the Executive Director of the California Lutheran University Center for Entrepreneurship. He is a startup community leader in the Conejo Valley and Ventura County, to the north of Los Angeles. He comes to Cal Lutheran from UC Santa Barbara, where he ran UCSB’s highly successful New Venture Competition. Mr. Panesis is a frequent speaker on entrepreneurship and early stage investing.

Mike is Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Governors of Tech Coast Angels (TCA), the largest accredited angel investor group in the country. He heads TCA’s Central Coast Investor Network. Mike is a founding member of the Santa Barbara Angel Alliance.

Mike has an MBA Marketing from Rutgers University and a BS in Computer Science for Business from the DeVry Institute of Technology. He lives in Camarillo with his wife and two children. He is on the Steering Committee of the Ventura County Greek Festival.

Al Jones

Al Jones is currently the President and CEO of Corporate Credit Now in Oxnard. Al has over 20 years of retail banking experience and is a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. Prior to joining Corporate Credit Now, Al was the Regional Vice President for First California Bank, where he managed 5 retail branches, and over Three hundred million dollars in bank assets.

As the President of Corporate Credit Now Al supports small to moderate size companies, with Business loans lines of credit, and low-cost merchant card services. Corporate Credit Now consults also consults small to moderate companies obtain corporate credit without personal guarantees, collateral, or any personal credit checks. Hence the name Corporate Credit Now.

Some of Al’s strengths are his ability to listen, his leadership skills, and employee management. Al thrives on community involvement, particularly those that enhance the lives, and wellbeing of others. Al is the past recipient of the “Police Activities league “Citizen of the Year”. The Oxnard Chamber of Commerce’s “Man of the Year”, and The NAACP’s “Citizen of the Year Award winner’.

He is currently a board member for The Santa to the Sea, which supports the needs of under privileged children in Oxnard. Al is a former Board member of the Oxnard Chamber of Commerce, Co-chair of the Ventura County Medical Association’s Scholarship Fund, and  the past Vice-chair of the Oxnard Homelessness Commission,

Anson Mar

Anson Mar has represented Ventura County Credit Union for the previous three years as a Business Development Officer. He is passionate about developing relationships with customers who hesitate to work with the typically impersonal banking institutions.

His focus at the Credit Union include lending for commercial entities, industrial ventures, and real estate transactions. With over 20 years experience in the financial services industry and stints as a small business owner, his background affords him a rare understanding of both the complexities of small business ownership and the financial tools available to Ventura County’s business community.

He is an advocate for the business owner and is passionate to help our business members to succeed. He is known for his high energy, flexibility with diverse audiences, upbeat style, good sense of humor and intuition.

Anson and his wife have lived in Camarillo since 2004 and have three children.
